it's that time of year again

We got our Christmas cards out a lot later than I had hoped, but they should arrive just in time for Christmas. We were beyond busy with finishing up our semesters in grad school, so these totally got thrown together at the last minute.
Thankfully, there was no need to pose for photos, since we had so many great ones to choose from. This worked out perfectly since we wouldn't have had time anyway. And I kind of love the idea of grabbing photos that actually reflect our year together as opposed to staging one. So instead of picking one classic photo, we choose a few…all from national park adventures and hikes of course.
Even though getting these cards out was added effort and kind of a pain in the butt, I'm glad we did it. We started this tradition of sending out personalized cards when we got married and it's something that we will continue. Grad school or not. It's so rare for people to take the time to send a handwritten letter anymore, but spreading a little cheer during the holidays makes it worth it.

  1. I love your card! I agree that it's nice to use a photo that actually represents you as a couple rather than something posed. My husband illustrated our card this year, so we didn't have an actual photo, but it's fun to switch it up!
