Wherever we were in Palm Springs, we could see the mountains. And we of course had to make our way to the top.
The city of Palm Springs California is located at the base of a valley, but is surrounded by mountains on all sides. You have the San Bernardino Mountains to the north, the Santa Rosa Mountains to the South, the Little San Bernardino Moutains to the East, and the San Jacinto Mountains to the West. We took the best route up to the top of the mountain with riding the world's largest rotating aerial tram up the top.
The views on the up were stunning as we quickly climbed thousands of feet!
At the top, you have the option to hike and camp. We definitely took them up on that with hiking through Mount San Jacinto Sate Park.
breathtaking views of the tram wires through the fog
Husband was way too happy about the gourmet restaurant they have at the top. It was the perfect spot for a HOT lunch that we needed. Because after spending the morning hiking at the base of the mountain, we were not prepared for the 30 degree temperature drop at the top.
Thank you California for yet another epic experience. No wonder I've visited you 4 times in 5 years!
