We were so excited for Day 2 in Havana and hit the ground running. This was our first full day in the city and with our delay on getting the trip started, it just felt so nice to have things finally moving along. We packed everything into this day and may have overdone it a little. In fact, I think that I'm going to have to break Day 2 into two different posts so that there isn't a complete photo overload.
After a quick breakfast right near our AirBnB (click here for $40 off your first stay), we walked through the Old Town to La Casa del Son.
La Casa del Son is one of the best known dance studios in Havana and I had arranged for us to have a couples salsa lesson.

We did a 2 hour private lesson with a male and female instructor that were both so fun and great to work with. It's totally not their faults that we are still so bad at salsa dancing. Ha! Even still, I am so glad that we did this class.
After our class, we had a few hours to spare before our next scheduled activity, so we walked through exploring the alleyways of Old Havana.
pretty please can I move into this pink and yellow house?
Love this city and felt the need to pose in front of every single door.
We decided to grab lunch at El Rum Rum.
I had a list of places for us to try out while we were in Havana and this spot turned out to be one of the best meals that we had in Cuba. It was made complete with amazing mojitos, a live salsa band, and great service.
After lunch, we headed back to our AirBnb where we had a driver and guide waiting to take us on a classic car tour of the city. When you're in Cuba, you have to ride in a classic car. It's a must!
We did a 3 hour tour with an English guide.
So fun to go cruising around Havana with the top down.
Also, I'm so glad we had a chance to drive out further and see some sights that we may have missed otherwise...like Lennon Park in the Vedado District
Speaking English was once banned in Cuba. And there was even a specific law banning the Beatles Music. When Fidel Castro changed this policy, he made a big announcement and dedicated this park and statue. (P.S. Lennon isn't wearing his glasses because they are constantly being stolen)
Quick stop at the National Hotel to take in it's famous sorted history and grab mojitos!
This hotel is made famous because it was used by the mafia to hide and embezzle money through the casino.
Next stop was Revolution Square!
You can see the rain clouds rolling in, but in true Schneider fashion, we decided that our day wasn't over yet.
We asked to be dropped off at one last spot to watch a very special sunset.
I love how vibrant and colorful everything is in Havana!! I also have that song stuck in my head now :) xo, Biana- BlovedBoston
