How often do you watch the sunset? Like really watch it. For me, evenings are normally a time swamped with doing all the last minute things before the day ends. I rarely take a moment to pause like this, which made it extra special to watch the sunset over Havana.
This was the perfect end to Day 2 in Havana. We had been running all over the city that day, fitting in all the adventures. This was a chance to take a moment to pause, wait, and just enjoy the bustling city from afar.
El Morro literally translates to mean something "prominent". And this castle that is built into rock along the shore of Havana is definitely prominent. It was used to guide ships to Cuba because it could be seen from far way.
This fort then served as a place to defend the city when needed.
Now, it's just a beautiful spot for pretty city views during sunset.
I loved exploring every inch of this place with this guy.
We even made a new friend.
I'm all about special moments when traveling, ones that are too special to experience at home. And celebrating our 5 year anniversary in a castle while watching an amazing sunset over Havana is definitely one of those special moments that I'm always searching for.
