The big easy truly is the perfect way to describe New Orleans. Husband and I are always so stressed out and on the go, so it was amazing to meet up in NOLA and really take a few days to enjoy the laid-back easy-going lifestyle here.
We flew into NOLA late Thursday night and had a nice long weekend there, which was plenty of time to explore this unique city. We slept-in every morning, strolled & biked the city streets, and ate more than our fill of all the great creole cuisine.
Here's just a peak of our time in New Orleans!
strolling alongside the Missippi River watching all the River Boats go by
off to explore the French Quarter!
We ate so well here.
listening to jazz at the music legends park
At some point we found ourselves on Bourbon Street, which is the crazy place to be. New Orleans has open-carry, so we grabbed ourselves a few drinks and walked around taking in all the sights.
Had to pick up this tee that says "trust me, I'm a witch doctor" Loved the voodoo pun on a classic
a favorite stop in this city....getting a glimpse of mardi gras
We loved visiting the warehouse where they create, make, and store all the mardi gras floats for the year. More from our visit there can be found here
Oh NOLA!
We spent our last morning biking through the city...but first, we had to fuel up for breakfast at the famous Ruby Slipper
biking through the mansions of the garden district
best way to spend Easter morning before we had to take separate flights back to our separate homes
A quick break from biking to stop at the famous cafe du monde. Had to pick-up some of that beignet mix to take home.
We loved our time in this city so much and felt so lucky to be there just in time to celebrate its 300th anniversary!
NOLA
tastes like the best mix of flavors thanks to creole cuisine
sounds jazz music with drums and horns constantly blaring through the city, mixing in with that classic New Orleans accent
looks like the most colorful city
smells like fresh beignets always
feels like the best place to live easy and spend a few last days with Husband until we can reunite again
