I think it’s safe to say that
Husband and I had a pretty untraditional Easter weekend living it up in New Orleans. But nothing about our
lives right now feels traditional, so why should this weekend be any different?
Soon enough, we will be settled and holidays like today will be centered around church and family. I’m looking forward to that phase of life for us, but I’m sure that we will be reminiscing about weekends like this one. With us both having Good Friday off, we had to take advantage of the long weekend to get together and picked New Orleans as our meeting point. We each took multiple fights to be able to make it here and didn’t get in until late (2AM) but it was worth it to be reunited together in a new city. As of now we don’t have any plans to see each other again until late May, so I was savoring every bit of this weekend and feeling so blessed just to have this time together.

After a quick brunch, we
biked all through the French Quarter. Then we headed over to see the quiet
mansions of the Garden District.
I would happily live in any or all of these
We made a stop to tour the
famous Lafayette Cemetery and pay our respects.
Because the city is below sea
level, the graves here are above ground, which is so interesting and beautiful
to see.
