friday favorites 09.21.18

This past week has been a crazy one with Hurricane Florence throwing such a big wrench into the mix. Yet, I can honestly say that this week and today in particular have been the best that I've had in a long time.
And here's why....

Almost a Dentist!
Today is my last day at the dental school. Well, sort of. I'm sure I will pop in from time to time. But on Monday, I kick off 7 months of away rotations. So I won't be at the dental school much. At the start of this week, I was worried because Hurricane Florence had closed the school down for 4 days, which had me stressing about all the practicals I missed and wishing that dental school wasn't cancelled. But I was able to work double time this week and catch-up from the missed days. I've managed to take several of my graduation practicals with patients on everything from dentures to root canals.
In honor of this monumental occasion and this amazingly productive week, I decided to have a little fun and get some closure by writing a "Dear John" letter to my bae-my first patient. I personally find myself to be quite hilarious and think that it's pretty funny if you want to give it a read

Anniversary
Today Tom and I are celebrating 5 years of marriage. I can hardly believe it. And today, we officially get to live together as a married couple. No more long distance since "away" rotations are taking me away from the dental school, but closer to him. I cannot wait to leave the dental school today and go to a home that we can now share together.

The Garden Maze
While we were hiding out from the hurricane, we took refuge at my in-laws home in the mountains and had the chance to spend some time enjoying their family business-The Garden Maze. Truly is the prettiest greenest place to be.

Southwest Itinerary & Budget
I finally finally finally finished sharing about this year's west coast pilgrimage. And I did a great big post that includes our exact itinerary and budget from our Great Big Southwest Adventure Road Trip. I will warn you, but I'm proud to be open enough about our travels to share this.

Here's to an amazing week and hopefully an even more amazing weekend!
