Happy Holidays: Snapshots [12.14.15]

Blogmas Day 14
Happy Monday Everyone!
I'm linking up again to share a few snippets from the weekend. My to-do list was nowhere close to being completed, which I will have to make for up this week. But it was a fantastic and festive weekend that included lots of holiday dates with the husband, so all in all, I'm counting this one as a win.

{Friday}
Friday night, we spent quite a bit of time walking around the city, taking in all the Christmas lights and holiday decor. We decided to pop into one of the chocolate shops here and we were not disappointed. They had every truffle flavor that you could imagine, they even had bacon and beer infused truffles for Husband. And the smell when you walk in the door makes you never want to leave. I think this is what heaven will be like, except no one can gain any weight from the pounds and pounds of chocolate they eat!
We spent the rest of the night eating chocolates and drinking cocoa, which led to the best kind of sugar high!

{Saturday}
This felt like the laziest day because the only time we left the house was for a quick trip to the post office. But surprisingly, lots got done. We managed to get some of the house clean and I spent the majority of the day baking holiday treats to send off for family and friends. 4 dozen cookies, 2 trays of muffins, and a few pounds of frosting later, the favorite recipe of the day were these peppermint marshmallow creme sugar cookies

{Sunday}
 Then on Sunday night, we finished the weekend off with the best date night! Boston tops the list as one of the best ballet companies in the world and we caught their rendition of the Nutcracker. Loved their hilarious twist on this classic! This night included lots of champagne and lots of laugher! And yes, we totally took photos with some of the toys. We are big kids!

Christmas is obviously my favorite time of the year. If doing Blogmas doesn't prove that, I don't know what will! I'm loving all the memories that Husband and I are creating this year. After years of marriage, this is the first time that we haven't been long distance. We finally have the chance to enjoy the holiday season in it's entirety and we are taking complete advantage of this opportunity.
How did you celebrate the holiday weekend?

Follow along with Blogmas to see more holiday fun everyday this month

  10. Omg you and your husband are so cute. That picture is adorable! They're doing a production of the Nutcracker in Chicago this year as well and I really wanted to go. Definitely have to add that to my holiday bucket list ;) & those peppermint marshmallow creme cookies look amazing. I have a whole bag full of broken peppermint sticks I saved from our gingerbread making night and I want to find a bunch of recipes that call for crushed peppermint. I think these cookies will be getting made for sure!

    1. I bet the Nutcracker in Chicago would be amazing. Chicago seems like a pretty great city. We are actually hoping to add it to our vacation list this spring/summer! And the cookies would be a great way to use up peppermint sticks! That's why I made them. I just added peppermint extract to my regular sugar cookie recipe so I could garnish them with these!
