Blogmas Day 13
Boston has a world renown ballet company and tonight we attended their production of The Nutcracker. It was by far the best rendition I've ever seen. The talent of the performers was obvious, and I love supporting people who work hard at perfecting their craft. The costumes were pretty over the top and the intricacy of all the moving sets was phenomenal. This may be the 3 glasses of champagne talking, but it was nothing short of magical.
We were already excited to see the ballet, but it didn't hurt that the performance was at the Boston Opera House. We thought it was beautiful last time we were here, but it's even better at Christmastime!
There were carolers singing in the lobby
and giant Christmas trees everywhere...
Oh and I wasn't kidding about the champagne!
During the show, we loved how much humor they managed to infuse into all of the scenes. We were pretty much entranced by the whole experience, but our favorite was definitely the battle between the Mouse King and the Nutcracker. Plus we couldn't believe how much snow they realeased during the Snow Scene.
Their tagline of "cherish the moment" is aptly awarded because attending a live performance is always a thrill. This one is going at the top of our list. Adding another playbill to our memory box. Oh, and for your viewing pleasure, here's a little taste of what we got to experience.
Follow along with Blogmas to see more holiday fun everyday this month
I always love The Nutcracker. That theater looks beautiful, and I love your outfit! Sounds like a perfect holiday date.
ReplyDeleteThe version we saw last year (at a different place) was kind of terrible so this definitely made up for it. And that skirt is my go to during the holidays.
DeleteLooks lovely! I absolutely love seeing new productions of the Nutcracker. It's such a great American tradition (ironically, perhaps), and the Boston Opera House looks GORGEOUS xx
ReplyDeleteWe love the Boston Opera House. It was worth going just to be there. And we loved this production. We have seen it done by smaller ballet companies and it's just not the same.
DeleteLove all the festive things! We're going to see the Nutcracker on Thursday and I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI know! We are trying to fit in as many fun holiday things as we can! Hope you enjoy it.
