Yes, this house is that pink!
All the little gingerbread cottages that dot the town of Oak Bluffs are equally colorful. While we were celebrating my 29th birthday in Martha's Vineyard, visiting these was at the top of my list.
And we managed to find them. Rows and rows of these bright-hued whimsical little cottages.
The history of these little cottages is pretty interesting. Back in the 1800's, the Methodists started using this area as a religious camp retreat. Over time, they replaced their temporary tents with little cottages. They all have these A-frame roofs that are reminiscent of the tents they replaced.
The cottages are built in this odd concentric pattern with little circular neighborhoods and this most eclectic details.
Something about them too me just feels so European as they cottages are just dripping with charm.
You can actually rent and stay in one of these while you're in the Vineyard. Or at the very least, just walk though. There is such a sweet sense of community here and we ran into several of the home owners who couldn't wait to tell us about the history of their homes.
Just when I thought Martha's Vineyard couldn't be any more picturesque, we ended our trip there strolling past the cutest homes.
These houses are so adorable! It must have felt like something from out of a storybook. Sierra Beautifully Candid
