Oh September! You were perfect in every possible way.
It's amazing when we don't even have to leave our own place for a good weekend. We just step outside and are instantly on the water.
My new favorite workout-AM bike rides along the waterfront
Our new home of Norfolk Virginia is nicknamed the "city of mermaids" and I love love love stumbling upon new ones...some of my current favorites include this one along the waterfront
and this gorgeous one outside the ballpark---too cute that she's dressed like a player and holding a catcher's mit
oh and let's not forget about that time that I wished dental school wasn't cancelled, but Hurricane Florence spread her wrath and forced the school to close
Luckily we had the perfect place to hide our from the storm with a visit to my in-laws.
Back to our beloved Norfolk after all was safe after the storm
We've been trying out lots of new restaurants here
per usual, I've been keeping busy this month with lots of tooth extractions and denture deliveries
These sweet postcards that Tom sends me from trips we have gone on together was just the reminder and push I needed to share our Southwest Itinerary & Budget.
kayaking with my boys
what could be sweeter?
we found a new brunch spot and the best salad spot all in one!
we are loving Norfolk and settling right into our new place with finally getting more unpacking done!
even in the rain, I love the views from our place
Stocking up on Husband's autumn wardrobe thanks to lots of J Crew Rewards. I have to live life vicariously through shopping for him since I wear the same blue scrubs everyday 😭
so hard to say goodbye to summer, how gorgeous is this last summer sunset?
we celebrated our 5 years of marriage this month
our big gift to yeach other was last month's visit to Cuba. We visited our 5th country together to celebrate 5 years together. Even still, we always exchange the traditional wedding gifts. 5 years = wooden gifts.
Husband gave me this wooden mermaid that represents our new home together in the city of mermaids. I cannot wait to head to the mermaid factory together to drink wine and design this. I'm always a sucker for a gift that is actually an experience.
And I gave Husband this wooden 3D map of our new home in the bay.
I spent the month month selling off my dental practice models
and writing a "Dear John" letter to my Dear Dxttrr
because September marked my last month at the dental school. I finally started my dental school away rotations!
It was actually harder to leave the dental school than I expected and I had to write all the thank yous to everyone that had helped me so much along the way
lots of long commutes now that I'm driving over an hour one way to make it to my rotations
but I'm ok with it thanks to pretty views, books on tape, and the fact that I get to return home to my dog and husband each day.
September was the perfect month of transition in the best possible way. I transitioned to my new life living with my husband and doing my dental rotations and have been loving every moment of it.
