Old Sacramento

After spending an amazing morning air-balloning in Napa, we hopped in the car and drove to Sacramento. Sacramento is only a hour drive from Napa and it's also the state capital of California. So even though it wasn't originally on the itinerary, we decided that it could be a great place to be. It's very much outside of my comfort zone to deviate from our scheduled plans, but there always needs to be some spontaneity involved when traveling.

White Jeans & Striped Tees

It's been a while since I shared an outfit of the day, but I've literally been living in scrubs and pjs. Thanks to a week off from school spent in California, I actually had the chance to get dressed everyday. Oh my goodness, I missed this! And whenever I wasn't in fitness wear (we did a ton of hiking), I was living in these white jeans. So here's what I wore for our air balloon ride and champagne brunch in NAPA.

Air Balloons & Champagne in NAPA

we started out our week long adventure in California in the best way possible...
with an air balloon ride in NAPA!
Because Cali is such a big place to explore, we had originally planned on skipping Napa this time around, but I'm so glad that we didn't.
In order to make the most out of our day, we decided to squeeze Napa in as a quick stopping point and were only there for a few hours.
Here's the best way to see Napa in 3 hours!

SnapShots of California

well it's another monday.....
I don't mean to be ungrateful, but after a week off, going back to life as usual is always a bit difficult. If you follow me on insta, then you may have already seen a few snippets of the amazing week that Husband and I had in California. Definitely worth flying across the country for! Today its back to reality, but I'm so excited to spend the rest of this week recapping all of our adventures (mostly because it's going to allow me to relive everything). For now, I'm just sharing a few highlights from our trip.
Happy Monday!

Take Me Back!

This time last year, Tom and I went to California for what turned out to be a life-changing experience. To celebrate our first wedding anniversary, we made a big splurge--booking tickets to fly across the country and spend a week in what is undoubtedly one of the most expensive destinations in the country. But it was worth every single penny. Of all the places we've visited since then, Cali has a special place in our hearts. For months we reminisced about it; wishing that we could go back. There was so much more that we wanted to do there. But, realistically we just didn't think that we could afford another week in California anytime soon.
And then.....

Guide to Charleston + a VIDEO

One of my favorite parts of a trip is planning it.
And our July trip to Charleston was no exception. All of the research that goes into learning about a new place builds the anticipation before you even leave home. And it helps you to appreciate it so much more when you finally arrive. That's why you can always find me nose deep in a travel book, learning about places that I won't even be able to visit for years to come. While I may love making lists and planning ahead, I know not everyone feels this way. And even I can admit that it can sometimes be frustrating and stressful to try to determine the best places to go while traveling. Because Charleston is such a popular Southern destination, I thought that I would share my recommendations for this amazing city. Added bonus---this guide includes a video from our trip and you definitely don't want to miss the total wipe out at 1:03.

Back & Catching Up

This has been the craziest week...the kind where the laundry piles up so high you just want to hide from it. But at least the kitchen is spotless and why shouldn't it be since you've been eating out non-stop. There has been very little time to catch up, which means everything takes twice as long. It may even get so bad that you find a coffee cup in the shower. And the car keys you spent 15 minutes searching for, well they were in the fridge.
And then you realize, it's only Wednesday!

Life Lately: July in Review

It Started with a SPARK
Then SIZZLED like a Firecracker

It was BURSTING with color
But FIZZLED out way too soon

This pretty much sums up my July!
