Clothing Budget Update

I'm a little late to the party, but I'm linking up with Budgeting Bloggers again this month to share my clothing purchases. And because I was really sick last month, I actually missed out on the August link-up so today I'm showing off my purchases from both August and September.

Easy-Bake Apple Cider Donuts

My favorite part about Fall in New England is the Apple Cider Donuts!
They have the perfect texture and are so very sweet, plus there are apples mixed in, which means these donuts are actually good for you. Seriously, they are the best! I have been making all kinds of goodies since our apple picking adventure...apple pie, apple crisp, even apple butter. But the treat we love most are these apple cider donuts. This is what Fall is supposed to taste like!

Fall at Fenway Park

To say that Husband and I aren't into sports is a bit of an understatement. But if you're fortunate enough to be in Boston, then you have to visit the Famous Fenway Park. While we still owe ourselves the full experience of an actual game here, one complete with peanuts and cracker jack {and beer}, for today we decided to take a Tour of Fenway Park.

APPLE Picking!

Have you ever been apple picking?
I have had never been. Husband and I made plans every Fall, but timing just never worked out. As one of our anniversary dates, we finally went apple picking this year. It was the perfect date and a great way to kick off the Fall season. Plus, it was made even better because we were able to take our pup along with us.

LBD + Plaid

It's been a little while since I've shared an OOTD, but I assure you that I have indeed been getting dressed. Typically, I prefer not to share repeat ensembles here and I've been living in the same summer pieces waiting for the transition into autumn. During our anniversary dinner this past weekend, I had cause to wear something a bit fancier since we caught a broadway show and dinner at a nice restaurant. I of course had no idea what to wear, which made it the perfect time to reach for this little black dress.

2nd Anniversary Recap

Today is our second wedding anniversary and we celebrated all weekend long so I'm excited to be linking up with some lovely ladies for Weekending. Being in a long distance marriage, our focus is on spending as much time together as we can. We planned so many amazing dates together and I'm kind of exhausted from how much we squeezed in this weekend, but it was the best and now we have all of these amazing adventures to remember our anniversary by.

Walking through History: The Freedom Trail

Boston is one of America's founding cities with so much history and we feel very fortunate to be able to call this city our own. But when you're a local, it can be easy to forget what all your city has to offer. We are trying to be the exception to this by taking complete advantage of our time here. We decided to cross another item off our Boston Bucket List with the Freedom Trail: a 2.5 mile bricked-line path that takes you through several historical sights in Boston. It tells the tale of the American Revolution and the founding of the United States along the way. We wanted to learn as much as possible while keeping things interesting during our day date so we decided to experience The Freedom Trail in the most unique way possible....

Opposites Attract

Things are going to get a bit sappy around here because Tom and I are coming up on our second wedding anniversary. It's so crazy to think that I've been married to this wonderful man for two years already, mostly because he is my complete opposite in so many ways. While our differences make him that much more intriguing to me, they also nearly kept us apart. In fact, the first time we met, we didn't even speak to each other. We were so seemingly different. Now I know that these differences are what really makes us work so well together.

Yosemite National Park

Continuing on through California, Tom and I spent 3 nights and 2 days camping and hiking in Yosemite National Park. I know that climbing mountains by day and sleeping outside by night may not seem like an ideal vacation to some people, but for us it was perfect.

August Highlights!

Normally I would have shared my monthly recap much sooner, but I've been a bit sick. As in fever of 103, time spent in the hospital kind of sick. So September isn't off to the greatest start, but I wanted to pop in and share a few of my favorite moments from August. it's odd because August was pretty much one the worst and best months this year...funny how things work out that way, but let's focus on the good

Lake Tahoe

lake tahoe is without a doubt one the best places that I've ever been
the smell of fresh pine trees in the air
mountainjays flying everywhere
and the clearest blue waters
tahoe is pure serene perfection
it's no wonder they call it the lake of the sky
