succulents & sundays

If you are following along, then you already know the significance of this photo. Tom and I are just a few days shy of of celebrating 8 amazing years together. Having met just out of high school, I feel like we have literally grown up together. With a long term relationship, it can be all too easy to take things for granted. Leave it to simplest sunday task to help put things into perspective.
These succulents were guests at our wedding. They made up my bouquet, husband's boutonnière, and the flowers at the alter. After the I do's were said and the celebrations were over, these were planted. We spent the last two years fostering their growth as we have fostered our relationship and they are thriving. With these lovelies bursting out of their clay pot, we were happy to spend a good part of our sunday replanting those succulents so that they may continue to prosper. Sundays like today are the best for their simplicity. I wouldn't have expected such a simple task to lead to such reflection, but I'm thankful for our renewed appreciation for each other.
Here's to Sundays filled with Succulent blooms

  6. Happy belated anniversary! I'm glad your succulents are thriving as well as your relationship! Long distance is tough, but you two are clearly meant for each other because only the true can do it!
