Thanks to a whirlwind week in Washington State, we got our first taste of the Pacific Northwest. This is my final big share from our trip. And then hopefully, I can delve more into our Christmas trip through Mexico and my trip to Europe. Seriously, will I ever catch up on blogging? But I guess being too busy traveling to document your past travels isn't such a bad problem to have.

meet me in new york
There are pretty much no perks to being in a long distance relationship. Aside from having complete ownership over the remote control, but that get's lonely after a while. But I can think of one good thing. Instead of me always visiting Tom or him visiting me, sometimes we meet in a special place. This way, we're not visiting each others day to day lives and being reminded of the distance. Instead we're just two people meeting up in a neutral place.

a long layover in new york
I'm currently in New York to spend the long weekend with the husband, which got me thinking about my last trip to NY that was only 3 weeks ago. It wasn't planned, I was supposed to just be passing through. On my way to enjoy this Europe trip with my sister, we had a quick layover in New York. Well flights got delayed and then cancelled and it turned out that we were stuck here fore nearly a day. But I can never be stuck anywhere.
We basically had two options…1.) stick around the airport and complain OR 2.) make the best of it. I think you can guess which one we chose.

THE HOH RAINFOREST
The Hoh Rainforest is by far this most magical place I've ever been because there's something about it that touches your soul. Some favorite moments our day there...
Being surrounded by sitka spruce covered in green moss
Tasting the perfect amount of moisture in the air + feeling the fresh drops of rain dew falling on my skin
Spotting roosevelt elk walking right across the trail
I always thought I'd have to travel to the Amazon to visit a rainforest, but one of the largest Temperate Rainforests in the world is located right in the United States in Olympic National Park. After our lazy days at Lake Crescent, we knew that Olympic wouldn't let us down. And thanks to the National Park Service, this place will forever be protected for us all.

kissing 2016 goodbye
I guess I'm a little late to the party with sharing my year end review, but I was a little busy ending 2016 on the best note possible thanks to a trip through Europe. Now that I'm back stateside and finally having a moment to unpack, catch-up, and shake off the jet lag, I'm ready to officially say goodbye to 2016.
In a lot of ways, this past year was not an easy one. I feel like I was tested in so many ways....in my marriage, in my desire to become a dentist, in the path I've chosen in life. But there were also a lot of good moments freaking fantastic moments. So here are a few highlights from my 2016.

new year, new adventure
After ringing in the new year over the pond with a trip through Europe, I have a feeling that 2017 is going to be a good year. One full of adventure. As of now, I have no idea what to expect from this coming year and no major plans. But I know this year is going to be a crazy one with grad school and living long distance from my husband, we will need to plan lots of crazy adventures to help pass the time and make this year even better than the last. Expecting a lot from you 2017, can't wait to see what you have in store for me.
