Playing Favorites

One of the best (and worst) parts about being a fashion blogger is that I have a detailed account of everything that I wear. A big perk of chronicling my wardrobe, is that it's easy to ensure that I'm rotating the pieces in my closet and not repeating outfits, but every once in a while I decide that I don't care. Sometimes, I just want to reach for a piece that I know works for me. Today is one of those days...I'm playing favorites.

I bought this dress on a whim a year ago. I had a gift card so I figured why not and I'm so glad that I did. I wouldn't have believed that a Target dress could outrank many of the designers in my closet, but it does. It has quickly become one of my favorite pieces and I wear it as often as I can. This dress is a fit & flare, which works best for my short yet curvy frame. I've got enough space for the girls, while accentuating my tiny waist and providing ample room for my not so skinny thighs. It just works for me.

Target hit the nail on the head with this green and navy color combo. Plus the ruching at the neckline adds a bit more visual interest to a modest piece, which I adore. Can you tell that I love this dress? I have to be honest though, I'm loving the neckline on this year's version of the dress even more.

Confession...I may or may not own these heels in several colors.

  1. I love these pics of you, they highlight your natural beauty so well. Clean and simple! This look just goes to show when you find something that works for you stick with it! Your confidence definitely shines through because you're comfortable in what you're wearing. Did you use a tripod or do you have a photographer?

    1. Thank you Ele. I have some important meetings today to present a treatment plan for my patient, so I was definitely looking for something that was comfortable and made me feel good. Glad that shows through. As for photos, I take about 90% of them with a tripod bc I don't want to have to rely on having someone else around. I've got it down to a science now so it only takes me 10-15 minutes to set it up and get my photos.

  2. I had this dress with black and white stripes and LOVED it! It no longer fit though, so I had to get rid of it. :( It looks great on you! And I love the neckline too, but I do love the neckline on this year's version even more! This year's version may just have to come home to my closet...

    1. In that case, we may be #twinning bc I'm seriously considering getting this years version too! Plus Target is doing a $10 off $50 promo right now so I'm definitely being tempted

  3. Hi Jasmine. I love this colour combination. The green goes so well with the golden yellow cardi. I like how you've styled the look with a belt to share off your figure. You look great.
