Per usual, this month has been the craziest one of the year. With returning from our Christmas trip to Iceland, mailing off all the Christmas cards, and finishing out the trimester of dental school strong all before heading off to visit family for the holidays, it's been a whirlwind.
I feel like I've been mentally preparing for December for months, but it still caught me off guard with being busier than I expected. Lots of stressful days and sleepless nights. But there were lots of good highlights this month too that I'm excited to share. Also, had to include a few moments from the end of November because it felt wrong not to include our Christmas trip through Iceland here too.
this is how the month started out, lots of catching up and early morning study sessions for grad school
speaking of studying...took a nice little study break to pick up my Christmas tree since it was the only time I could get it. Managed to stuff a 7 foot tree into my tiny Honda and get it home + all set up before class
just a glimpse of the holidays in Iceland, it was the best
trimming the travel tree with the best ornaments that we've picked up from our travels throughout the year
realizing that the greatest gift is....a smile. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to give people smiles every single day
bought myself two new holiday mugs that I really didn't need, but they are just so festive! Love my xmas cacti mug and this classic reindeer mug
a little Christmas shopping from afar in Iceland
and a little random, but hooked on this classic Icelandic yogurt that is as good as they say and I can't go back to the plain stuff
obsessed with everything about this year's Christmas cards
so glad I carved out some time to get these done and mailed off in time for the holidays
Sleighing decay all month long with doing lots of restorative work in dental school.
I've already done nearly enough to meet my graduation requirements for restorative dental work!
early morning coffees around the Christmas tree before the craziness of the day begins
anyone else love spending part of the holidays at the airport?
Its so fun to watch the international arrival/departure boards and plan my next destination
5AM morning study sessions...just another day in the life of life of a dental student
a very merry Christmas to me with getting to upgrade to this
holiday touches everywhere you turn
and you know you've been a good student when Santa comes to visit you at dental school
also passing your oral pathology final and acing your practical on pulling teeth is a good sign too!
Tom & I stayed at my apartment for a few days just the two of us to imagine what it was like to be home for the holidays. This homemade dinner made by Husband (while I napped & shopped) was definitely a highlight that I could get used too. We're so ready to be done with being long distance
holiday decor everywhere...including my bedroom
this gift from husband is still the best ornament on the tree
🎶 "city sidewalks, busy sidewalks dressed in holiday style. In the air, there's a feeling of Christmas"
cozy christmas travels through Iceland
plus the best holiday meals out to dinner
wrapping up gifts for the holidays
you know that you're a dental student when you hand out electric toothbrushes as Christmas gifts. See what we gave our loved ones for Christmas here
We've been spending Christmas with my family, which has been wonderful and so needed. Headed to my in-laws today.
Hope you all had a merry & bright holiday season!
I can't wait to hear more about Iceland! We want to have a dedicated travel tree too but for now our ornaments are mixed in with our main tree. I hope you had a great Christmas and a very Happy New Year!! Sierra~Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteThank you. Will be sharing everything from Iceland in early January. I saw your travel ornaments in your stories-such a fun way to remember a trip
