August Budget: Lilly, Target, & Kate Spade

Lilly Pulitzer Lori Dress                                                    Lilly Pulitzer Charlton Sheath

This month's purchases will come as no surprise, especially if you read this post. I was all amped up for the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale and it did not disappoint. I literally wanted to grab one of everything, but I managed to maintain some self control and only picked up two dresses. Surprisingly, I didn't get any prints, but instead went for dresses that focus on texture. Still waiting on for these. Even though I haven't received a confirmation email that they have shipped yet, I still keep checking for packages. Sad huh?

Lilly Pulitzer Lori Dress in Pb Pink XO Lace
Original $248 on Sale for $89 after gift card $39

Lilly Pulitzer Charlton Sheath Dress in Pop Pink Barnard Boucle
Original $278 on Sale for $89 after gift card $39

Target Mossimo T-Shirt Dress
  Original $19.99 on Sale for $13.28 with a 20% off coupon $10.63
This turned out to be a smart purchase. I love that I can toss it on with flip flops and run to the grocery store or dress it up for a night out with heels as I did here.

Target Polka Dot Mini
  Original $14.99 on Sale for $7.48 with a 20% off coupon $5.98
Lately, I've been leaning towards polka dots, but realized that I don't have any in my closet. What a shame right? I am definitely working to correct that, starting with this skirt. See how I styled it here

I also grabbed these Kate Spade beauties this month, in part because of the Surprise Sale. Neither of these are getting totaled into my bottom line for August though. If you're interested you can learn more about why, along with a full handbag review here.

Retail Total $559.98
After Sales Total $198.76 - $104.15 Coupons/Gift Cards=$94.61 August Total

Not at all bad for August, which leaves me with about $100 a month for the rest of the year. I do want to focus on not purchasing more of the same though. I would like to revisit some stores that I haven't shopped at in a while and maybe add a new clothing brand to my closet. I tend to stick with the companies I know most, but I definitely need to branch out a little more. Any recommendations?

Year to Date Clothing Budget
$1650 (Year) - $171(Jan) - $0 (Feb) - $232(March) - $357(April) - $190(May)-$45 (June)-$140.86 (July)-$94.61 (August) = $419.53 remaining for the year

  1. I have throughly enjoyed owning that Target tee dress and the other stripe variation this summer. Both have been live savers in this summer heat.
I'm not sure where you usually shop, but every time I've tried to venture out of my "brand realm" I usually don't like the pieces for fit, color, durability etc. I have recently tried Madewell dresses though and was impressed with the new find.

  2. Yea the Target Dress has been an easy go to for me. Venturing out is always a bit nerve racking, but I want to try something new. Madewell is definitely on my list
