I only picked up two new pieces this month, but they were exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a few neutral blouses that would be perfect for spring and summer. While the two tops I grabbed are seemingly different, I'm noticing a trend in fit. I've been leaning towards longer sleeves and flouncy tops. Basically, I've come to the realization of how flattering this cut can be for my body type.

This turned out to be a pretty light month, which is good because I'm anticipating next month to be spendy. I'm on the hunt for a new swimming suit, which is going to cost me. Why is swimsuit shopping so difficult? My biggest problem has been finding something that's supportive and conservative for my chest size. So the hunt continues. Wish me luck.

I find ways to avoid wearing swimsuits for that very reason. I can find nothing modest for me, but then again I'm not a big fan of swim suits. Something about them just make me uncomfortable showing all that skin when I feel like I have a few more lumps and bumps that don't need to be seen. What kind of suit are you looking for? I kind of like the retro ones since they hid more skin.

honestly, I'm pretty open to whatever style will be flattering at this point. I've already tried on so many different ones already. I wear a D/DD in swim tops so if I can find something that is actually conservative & supportive, chances are it's hideous and was designed for people over 50. All the cute suits are barely there pieces of fabric.
DeleteI hate shopping for bathing suits. I've had luck at Land's End!
ReplyDeletethanks steph, it seems that they are offering 25% off swim currently, so I will definitely be checking out their styles.
DeleteI love that scalloped top!!
ReplyDeleteMe too! It's such a classic piece to dress up or down.
DeleteI adore that lace top on you! I'm also looking for some pretty short-sleeve tops/blouses now that spring is here.
ReplyDeleteSwimsuit shopping is the worst! Last year I was able to find a few that I liked from J.Crew, Old Navy, and Target. Oh, if you're looking for a bikini with a lot of support, you should check out Seafolly. I bought their Goddess bikini from Amazon, and the top is very securely held in place.
I've tried 4 different styles between J Crew and J Crew Factory…no luck. And I did order a few from Target, but I"m not holding my breath or expecting a ton of support. I haven't heard of sea folly. I will definitely go check them out.
DeleteBest of luck on the swimsuit shopping. None of my suits fit me right now, and I've resigned myself to the fact that I probably won't be able to fit into a suit top for the better part of the next year. I'd like to go somewhere warm next winter though, so if you find something, please share!
ReplyDeleteWe're planning on someplace tropical next winter too. I will definitely share if I find anything useful in next month's budget.
