A Day in Monterey Bay

Our journey in California started when our flight landed in San Francisco. We were super excited, but also very exhausted from our 10 hours of traveling. After a much deserved night of sleep and adjusting to the time change, we drove the two hours from San Francisco to Monterey Bay.

Before we hit the downtown area, we encountered the
Monterey Farmer's Market...Home of the Artichoke.

My husband is so very much fun!

We grabbed the most delicious salted caramel lattes. Seriously the best I've ever had. We also picked up some fresh fruit to snack on, then back into the car as we headed for the heart of Monterey Bay...Cannery Row.

Our goal for the day was to explore the Monterey Bay Aquarium (read about it here), but first we had to explore the town a bit and of course dip our toes
into the water. This was the first of many trips that I will be making to the Pacific Ocean. The water was so warm and clean. I can completely understand why it's teeming with sea life.

We grabbed dinner at Louie Linguini's where we sampled fried artichokes.

I absolutely adored everything about Monterey Bay
and am so glad that it was the first place we visited
during our anniversary trip. The views, the food, the
people; it was perfect.
