2nd Anniversary Recap

Today is our second wedding anniversary and we celebrated all weekend long so I'm excited to be linking up with some lovely ladies for Weekending. Being in a long distance marriage, our focus is on spending as much time together as we can. We planned so many amazing dates together and I'm kind of exhausted from how much we squeezed in this weekend, but it was the best and now we have all of these amazing adventures to remember our anniversary by.

{Saturday}
We started the day off early with a historical walking tour along the Freedom Trail of Boston. We've been to many of the sites included on the tour, but never really stopped to appreciate them. So this tour was a perfect way for us to see Boston through new eyes while learning a bit more about America's history in a fun way.
That afternoon, we got a bit fancy and headed to a matinee of The Book of Mormon. Husband especially, has wanted to see this show for a while. We looked into seeing it in New York, but it just did not fit the budget. We couldn't believe that Book of Mormon was going to be in Boston during our anniversary and it fit the bill, so we knew that we had to go. And it was better than I could have imagined. We actually attended our first Broadway Show during our first anniversary, so now I'm thinking we may need to make this a tradition.
We had an amazing time at Book of Mormon, seriously we could not stop laughing. And after we took a short walk through Boston Common to Ostra. We have been wanting to try this SeaFood place for ages and we finally had an occasion to do so. Our dinner was truly amazing-Husband ordered the Red Snapper while I had Monkfish. We were starving and didn't manage any dinner photos, but did manage to snap a pic of the amazing blueberry tart we had for dessert!
Thanks to a Matinee and an early dinner, we were home by 9, which is my kind of night. But a friend was having a birthday party so we decided to drop by. We didn't intend to stay long, but sometimes you just have too much fun and end up being out until 2AM.

{Sunday}
We spent the morning sleeping in, but decided that apple picking would be the perfect Autumn date. We spent a few hours climbing trees to pick the best apples and then rewarded ourselves with Apple Cider Donuts covered in Cinnamon Sugar. It was the perfect little family outing with our pup in tow.
We decided to keep things simple for the remainder of the night and grabbed Thai Curry take out and Pumpkin Beers for dinner. Then we exchanged gifts.
Essentially, our second anniversary was the best weekend ever. For us, nothing strengthens our marriage more than spending time together and trying new things...so that's exactly what we did.

  1. I want to see Book of Mormon so badly! And your outfit for that is killer! I swear apple cider donuts are only a thing on the east coast and in the midwest...I am desperate to find some here! Happy anniversary you two! Glad you had a great weekend of celebrations. :)

    1. For your sake, I hope that is not true about the apple cider donuts. The only place I've been able to find them is apple orchards and farmers markets which is weird. I hope you can find some because they are so delicious

    1. Ashley we loved Book of Mormon! We haven't stopped singing the songs since the show and we are seriously considering going again while they're still in Boston. If you see it, you won't regret it
