"No Bake" Peppermint Bark

Blogmas Day 20

Christmas break officially began at 5PM last night and I kicked things off right with a bake-a-thon. I know right, I'm so young and hip. It's hard to keep up with me. Many yummy treats were made, but one of my favorites didn't require any baking at all. Thought that I should definitely share it. Seriously, it's so easy and so delicious.

Ingredients & Supplies:
parchment paper
8x8 baking pan
17 oz semi sweet milk chocolate chips
17oz white chocolate chips
1/2 tsp peppermint extract
~10 candy canes

Directions:
Unwrap your candy canes and crush them. I put mine in the food processor, but you could crush them with anything heavy. Once this is done, put these aside.

Line the baking pan with a sheet of parchment paper.

Next it's time to melt the chocolate.
Place the milk chocolate in a microwavable safe bowl. Cover with a paper towel. Set the microwave to half power and heat up the chocolate at 1 minute intervals until it's smooth and melted.

Pour the milk chocolate into the pan and level it. Freeze for 10 minutes.

Melt the white chocolate the same way you melted the milk chocolate. Mix 1/2 tsp of peppermint extract into the melted white chocolate.

Pour the white chocolate on top of the milk chocolate. Sprinkle your desired amount of crushed candy cane on top. Freeze for another 10 minutes.

Let the bark sit at room temperature before cutting it into desired piece sizes.

Now all that's left is to eat it!
