Life Lately: July in Review

It Started with a SPARK
Then SIZZLED like a Firecracker

It was BURSTING with color
But FIZZLED out way too soon

This pretty much sums up my July!
July takes the prize for the busiest AND hottest month of the year. I'm really wishing that I had gotten to slow down and enjoy more of it. But I probably wouldn't even know what to do with myself if I had more spare time. Actually, I'd probably just sleep.
July began the way that all good months do...
with a visit from Husband. We caught up on our missed time together with date nights out and homemade dinners in.
Added bonus of July was having a week off from dental school. As much as I would have loved to be laying out on the beach, I chose to spend most of the week seeing patients and catching up on studying.
Ugh, don't you just hate being a responsible adult?
But, if I did have to be in clinic, it was great that Husband was my patient. I don't know how I would be making it through dental school without his constant support. I'm telling you, he has more faith in me than I do in myself.
Celebrating the 4th of July of was a battle between
THIS AND THIS...
but I definitely made time enjoy the holiday weekend with a little family road-trip to Charleston! Days were spent wondering through downtown, canoeing in scenic swamps, and eating at the best local restaurants!
One of the best parts of our weekend getaway?
We took things at a much slower pace compared to our usual excursions. Mornings sleeping in and waking up to my guys, plus evenings lounging around our rental. These everyday moments might be overlooked by some, but when you are in a long distance relationship, you cherish every single moment.
I hated saying goodbye to Charleston, but at least Husband was able to stay with me a while longer. He's a pretty handy guy to have around. While I studied, he whittled down my to-do list by assembling these new chairs and building a mount for this painting. Plus, I know I'm going to eat well whenever he is around...so lucky to be married to a great cook.
The last few weeks of July were dedicated solely to school and studying for my national boards. And can I just say that I am so tired lately?
Tired of studying
Tired of stressing
Tired of feeling defeated by this whole crazy process
Thankfully, I received the sweetest care package from Ele just when I needed some study motivation.
Oh my goodness!
She filled a box with the most thoughtful things...like pink floral school supplies a Starbucks gift card!
YES and YES
Plus, there were some adorable goodies that fit my personality so well. I haven't had the chance to meet Ele in person yet, but I feel like I know her so well. As a medical student and fellow blogger in a long distance relationship, we definitely have a ton in common. So thankful for her constant motivation and support this month and every month//

So I got this monthly review up a little later than usual, which gives you just a glimpse of how crazy and hectic August has already been. July flew by and I think that August will too. Thankfully, I have another week off coming up and you better believe that I will be enjoying it. Plus in my world
Time off=Travel
