Summer Blouse: 3 Ways

Lately, I've been obsessed with wearing this blouse because it fits all the criteria on my summer wish list. I have been hunting for the perfect summer blouse for months and I finally found it. Thank you Anthropologie! I wanted something that was going to be breathable for this crazy Southern heat. And as much as I adore colors and patterns, I have way too many of them in my closet, so I also wanted a neutral piece. BUT neutral doesn't mean boring meaning it still needed to have a bit of visual interest. Then I stumbled upon this blouse, which is currently on sale making it so worth it. I love that I've been able to make this work so well for both work and play. When you can wear a blouse in a swamp one day and dress it up for work the next day, that's the epitome of a versatile piece.

So I thought that it would be fun to highlight just 3 of the many ways that I've been incorporating this new piece into my wardrobe...

I was feeling a little guilty about taking time for myself, but I squeezed in a much needed midweek date night with hubby. Dressed up with a flirty polka dot skirt and cute striped bow pumps, this blouse helped tone down the pattern play while still adding visual interest.

When we travel, we are on the go non-stop. This shirt was perfect with shorts, a pair of cute van sneakers, and a sunhat. It kept me cool while outside and I looked composed when we were indoors. This was the perfect top for a day of travel and adventuring.

For Work
Finally, I wore this piece yet again today. And today's look inspired this post.
It added a bit of brightness to my dark patterned pants. Toss in a pair of patent pumps and a nice bag and I'm all ready for work....well school actually, but we won't quibble about the details.

  1. This is just the kind of piece I love. Versatility is definitely something I look for in my purchases. I may have to keep my eye on the bronze version of that blouse. I can already see the possibilities!
