home sweet apartment

I'm right in the middle of getting settled into my grad school apartment, but last weekend I was back in Boston to visit the husband for our 3 year anniversary. Getting to return to the cute apartment that we used to share together has me feeling all sorts of nostalgic.

Fall To-Do List

Now that I'm back to grad school, my life revolves around to-do lists. It seems that for every item that I manage to check off, 3 more get added. But this is one to-do list that I'm excited about. Now that I've completed my summer bucket list, it's time to get started on this Fall To-Do List.

summer bucket list {completed}

Well, summer is officially over. happy first day of fall friends. But, before I move onto all things pumpkin, I wanted to revisit my summer bucket list to see what actually got crossed off and what didn't. And it's no surprise that this bucket list revolved around two things 1.) getting outdoors and 2.) traveling to new places
This was one epic summer thanks to all the traveling we did. Seriously! After our week long southwest road trip in Utah, we travelled to Cape Cod, Maine, Vermont, then Maine again. Toss in trips to New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut too. Plus exploring Chicago. This summer was jam-packed. And I'm especially impressed with how many trips we managed to fit in since I returned to grad school back in July.

the {white} mountains are calling!

Wanderlust Wednesday-Week 27
every new englander knows the lure of the white mountains and they have been calling to us for far too long
golden sun peaking over the clouds in a sky filled with hues of pink, purple, and blue
the hard granite of the mountainside covered in soft green earth
walking right through waterfalls with the freshest spring water misting your face
we couldn't resist a trip to the white mountains of new hampshire

August Lately: moving, grad school, & travel galore

Can't believe we're already so far into September. Soon enough it will be time to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall. But I'm still recovering from August and all the changes it brought. So before we get too much farther into September, here's a few glances at my August Lately.
First off, did I mention that I'm back to grad school full time? This means three big things

Islands in the Sky

Wanderlust Wednesday-Week 25
Our very last stop on our Mighty Five Southwest Road Trip was the city of Moab, Utah. Moab has not one, but two national parks…Cayonlands & Arches. While Arches National Park is the more famous of the two, I've always preferred to stay off the beaten path. Don't get me wrong, Arches is impressive, but Canyonlands is life changing.

kayaking with a dog

Something that has been on my Boston Bucket List forever is to kayak the famous Charles River. But for our first time kayaking in the city, we decided to go a more relaxed route. Tom planned a kayaking trip for us at Spot Pond and the best part of the trip is that we were able to take our pup along.
Aside from fitting in my purse and being the perfect lap warmer, another perk of having a small pup is that they are kayak sized!

goblin valley + little wild horse

We loved our southwest road trip because there's nothing better than exploring a new part of the country with your best friend in the seat beside you. But sometimes, the driving got to be a little bit much and a good pit stop was needed. During our drive from Capitol Reef to Arches National Park, we stopped at Goblin Valley State Park. It's the perfect spot for passing through, since there aren't any true trails in the park. Just lots of space for playing and roaming around the "goblins" (hoodoos), but beware because it's haunted!
